Leon Lagnado is Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Sussex. After his PhD with Peter McNaughton (University of Cambridge) he worked as a postdoc in the laboratory of Denis Baylor (Stanford University). For 20 years he was a Group Leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. A major focus of his research has been understanding how the synaptic machinery of the retina contributes to the processing of visual signals.
