Dr. Alexandra Kling (nee Tikidji-Hamburyan) is a research scientist at Stanford University in the lab of Dr. EJ Chichilnisky. She completed her PhD studies in the Center for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN) in University of Tübingen, Germany, with Dr. Thomas Münch. After that, she worked as a postdoc in EJ Chichilnisky lab before being promoted to a research scientist position.

Dr. Kling studied retinal processing in the mouse as a graduate student, focusing on the effects of light adaptation on the retinal circuits. Currently she is working on the primate retina, studying organization of the ganglion cells receptive fields at the photoreceptor resolution, and helping develop retinal prosthesis to recover vision in humans.
