erm2019 Cruise & Conference dinner
Friday, September 13
After the second day of the conference, it’s time to enjoy more of Helsinki. At 19:30, the elegant paddlewheel ship Vispilä and M/S Amiraali will depart from the “Sillilaituri” pier opposite the Clarion Hotel. You will need to reserve around 10 minutes for the walk to the point of departure. The ERM staff will be there to guide you.
Restaurant Saaristo is located on the Klippan island in front of Helsinki’s South Harbour. Saaristo’s white Art Nouveau style villa, built in 1899, is one of Helsinki’s most imposing and traditional restaurants. At Saaristo you can admire the Empire-Helsinki skyline in the north, the ingenious walls and bastions of the Suomenlinna fortress in the south, and the crafty and romantic Art Nouveau style wood cuts in the historical dining room with a stunning sea view. In addition to a large dining room, the restaurant includes a bar, a dance floor, and three outdoor terraces. Restaurant Saaristo serves the best delicacies of Scandinavian cuisine by the sea and offers unique surroundings for an unforgettable dinner. The conference dinner will feature the artist Emilianne.
Please note
Contact the ERM information desk if you have not signed up for the dinner but wish to do so
Comfortable shoes are recommended as our short walk on the island covers steep ground
As the weather is variable in September, a wind-proof (and water-proof) jacket is always recommended
If you miss the boat, you can make your own wasy to Restaurant Saaristo. It has its own shuttle boat from a pier located to the south of the Olympia Terminal, by the Ehrenströmintie street. The short crossing to the Klippan island takes 2–3 minutes (map, picture).
Likewise, if you wish to leave the dinner earlier, you can take the shuttle boat to the mainland. Do not hesitate to ask the ERM staff for assistance.
